New Orleans French Quarter by day

New Orleans French Quarter by night: Dolores tries out an alter-ego
A slow day checking out New Orleans after a late night listening to music on Bourbon Street last night. We found a good bike shop adjacent to the French Quarter where Dolores got a replacement bottle cage that had broken in Oberlin and I got a replacement rear view mirror which had broken off in Kountze. The guy spent quite a while modifying it to fit my bike which was awesome. We then had coffee and sandwiches in a cafe next to the bike shop, preferring that to the French Quarter tourist madness.
In the evening Cathy and her friends from Baton Rouge hosted the group for dinner. They cooked jambalaya, "corn, potato and shrimp" soup, garlic bread with pecan pie and lemon icebox pie for desert. It was a great group of friends and an excellent southern feast.
Tonight we stay in St Francisville and set off riding again tomorrow for a campground east of Easlyville.
